I started HGR after running the Brooklyn Half Marathon in 2018. It was early, it was rainy, it was cold, it was miserable and I ran it solo. After that race I kept getting asked what race I was running next and hated that. I just wanted to go for daily jogs because it made me happy and not worry about signing up for another race. I also felt like all the run groups were either a boys club or everyone ran SO FAST and that wasn’t what I was looking for. I just wanted to make some new girl friends because making friends in your 20s after college is HARD.
So in 2019 HEY GIRL RUN was born – To create a fun and approachable space for all girls (of all ages) who love to run and want to stay healthy without having to always be training for that next race.
No judgements. No pressure. Just running.
HEY GIRL RUN has evolved into a community-first activewear brand with the best run gear (because we shouldn’t have to worry about our leggings being sheer or falling down all run), free training guides and IRL run clubs!

We meet every Sunday to make new friends, get our Sunday miles in & then we grab coffee! We do an easy, chill 30 min run [or walk, or jog]. All paces are welcomed and most girls jog! We are NOT out here running crazy fast or trying to PR. If you are nervous to come for your first time everyone is so so soooo nice and most girls come alone to make new friends so everyone is very friendly and welcoming & who knows you might just meet your new best friend <3
