RUNNING MUST-HAVES

We put together a list of our running ride or dies. These are all suggested to make running as enjoyable as possible. But remember, no two runners are the same. So you do you, girl!

RUNNING SNEAKERS (1-2 pairs)
This is hands down the most important purchase you will make. Like, ever. Okay, maybe not ever, but still very important. We recommend getting fitted at a local running store (like this, this, or this). We also suggest rotating through two pairs so your sneakers can regain full support and last longer. Usually sneakers last between 400 - 600 miles so make sure you are getting new sneakers once yours are won out and not trying to run on old sneakers.

ANTI-SLIP HEADPHONES
Earbuds that always fall out are actually the worst. And, everyone has a different ear shape. So do yourself a favor and invest in a pair of anti-slip headphones like these shokz headphones. They’ll be the peanut butter to your jams. Promise.

SUPPORTIVE SPORTS BRA

A supportive and comfortable sports bra is a must, regardless of your cup size. You should have a few trustworthy sports bras that you can cycle through during workouts to keep your girls in place. We love thesethese and these, but feel free to use what works best for you.

DOUBLE LAYER SOCKS
Nothing ruins a good run like blisters. Keep your feet happy with some double layer socks like these and thank us later…because blisters suck.

SPANDEX SHORTS w/ POCKETS
Flowy shorts are great, but chafing is weird. Running spandex will be your new BFF. They’re insanely comfortable at any length and keep your thighs from rubbing together in unpleasant ways. Spandex with pockets to hold your phone & other things are the bomb because they can hold small items when running, like more snacks. Check out these

COMPRESSION SLEEVE
These are great for anyone struggling with muscle aches and pains, especially shin splints. The compression targets and speeds up muscle recovery while increasing circulation in either your arms or calves.

HAT / HEADBAND
Protect your noggin. A hat, like this, is great for blocking the sun and protecting your face from harmful rays. Headbands will keep the hair out of your face so that you can focus on the road ahead, not the hair collecting in your mouth. During the colder months, a good headband can also double as an ear warmer.

FOAM ROLLER
Use after a workout to reduce risk of injury and soreness, especially on the front and back of your thighs. It’s likely going to hurt, but you can literally feel yourself rolling out the tension in your muscles. Foam rollers can also enhance mobility and flexibility. Remember to go slow while focusing on a specific area at a time. HURTS. SO. GOOD.

TRACKING APP
If you’re into running with your phone or other app-linked device, then you’ll love tracking your distance, speed, and split times. Feeling great after a run is one thing, but feelings aren’t facts. Tracking apps provide instant proof that you crushed your run. Strava is our fave (& you can join our strava group) because it’s free and who doesn’t love free sh!t? And you know what they say... tracking, or it didn’t happen.

ANTI-CHAFING BALM

Chafing is the actual devil. And we know it can happen in some weird places. But don’t worry girl, you're not alone! Anti-chafing (like this, or this) and anti-blister balm can be used wherever and whenever you need protection.
